Is a group of friends who love to make music together. Under the baton of Artistic Director Griewe, Music Works!Sonoma blends singing with community service in a unique way. It provides the concert for your non-profits charitable event, but you actually produce it: provide the venue, arranges for publicity, manage ticket sales.
MusicWorks!Sonoma repertoire includes Sacred, Contemporary, Renaissance (often in the original language), as well as varying aspects of the great American songbook: show tunes, jazz standards, folk songs, rock and roll hits, country-western classics, and more.
All ticket sales are tax deductible through your non-profit's 501(c)(3) organization, (all profits minus concert expenses, are for your charity). The conductor or any of the singers do not receive any compensation. Our goal is to minimize our expenses in order to maximize your charitable earnings. We accomplish that by partnering with other community networking groups and corporate sponsors who also have a mission of supporting community organizations that serve the good of the community.
MusicWorks!Sonoma's Pay is its members' joy in singing together and in giving to our community's nonprofit organizations, so that they, in turn, may give back to the community. Such mutually fruitful collaborations between music and community is, in the end the special harmony we wish to promote in and around Sonoma.
We have helped raise over $125,000 for non-profits organizations during the last five seasons. Among the community non-profits which have benefited from our mission include V.O.I.C.E.S. Sonoma. WillMar Center for Children, The 3rd Grade Dictionary Project of the Sonoma Kiwanis Club, The Sonoma County Children's Home, The Vallejo Naval Museum Children's Interactive Project, The Oakmont Kiwanis' Club, Fund for Community and Children Project, The Faith Lutheran Church of Sonoma Valley Youth Group's Project toward World Hunger, and most recently performed in the Celebrate Sonoma Strong for the Wildfire Recovery, and the Easter Sunrise Services at Cline Cellars.
